The Friends of the Boaz Public Library, founded in 1997, works to support the mayor and the library's Board of Directors in raising funds for the library. The Board of Directors has recently launched a fundraising drive to build a new library for the residents of Boaz. Fundraising efforts will concentrate on helping to achieve this goal.

Currently, A Library of Recipes, a collection of more than 600 favorite recipes of our library patrons, is available for purchase at the library, city hall, and local banks, including Community Bank, Southtrust, and the First Bank of Boaz. Proceeds will benefit the new library fund.

National Library Week
(April 18-24, 2004)

Help Friends celebrate !

The Friends reception in honor of National Library Week will be held Tuesday, April 20, from 9:30 a.m. to Noon in the Library. The reception will follow the Library's weekly Children's Story Hour.

Members of the Friends of the Boaz Public Library support the library and its staff throughout the year by volunteering at the summer reading program, hosting receptions and holding book sales to support these various endeavors. The Friends also award a $200 scholarship annually to a Boaz High School student who will attend Snead State Community College.
