History of Boaz, Alabama
Celebrating 100 + Years
Boaz continued to grow through the years with new people, homes, businesses, factories, Schools and Churches.

One big contributor was Highway 205 which connected Northeast cities like Attalla and Gadsden to Northwest Alabama cities like Guntersville and Huntsville.

The Downtown area has always been a great place for people to gather.

Many old buildings are still in use today.

Today they call it Crusin...

Many saw their first movie at the Rialto Theater in Boaz.

Parents would drop the kids off to see a movie on Saturday afternoon while they shopped.

Did you see a movie in this old Theater?

Many also remember the 5 and Dime store.  You could buy Toys or Comics and other general merchandise, and a Soda was only a nickel.

There was also a Grill there for Hamburgers, Hot Dogs and other snacks.
