| Across the entire U.S. the price of gas has risen to an average
of $1.57 per gallon, and according to most industry analysts, the prices
will go even higher this summer. Some experts estimate that prices
could reach $2.00 per gallon during this summer's peak driving season.
Drivers in the Boaz area are lucky to have the lowest gas prices
in North Alabama and maybe the entire U.S. Cowboys, a new gas
station and convenience store in Boaz, is offering all grades of gasoline
and diesel fuel at below average prices. This has caused a few other
stations to keep prices low to compete.
(Today's Price - $1.36 per gallon) In nearby Albertville and Huntsville, prices range from $1.51 to $1.59 per gallon. We can only hope that the competition in Boaz continues for a long time, but don't count on it. --- March 17, 2000
